Big Dogs May Have You Go Into Much Bigger Obligations
There is a wide array of dogs out there in terms of their respective sizes and shapes. Having to be responsible of a much bigger dog may have you realize the differences than having to take care of that of a toy dog in the process. But how much of a difference does it really make? Is there much more of a responsibility bestowed upon you in taking care of bigger hounds? Is there major advantages in having big hounds compared to those of smaller ones?
A dog’s diet
When it comes to the diet, larger dogs would require to have much bigger portions and different nutrients as well. More protein should be invested in these big dogs, especially when they are in the state of growing up. You would have to invest in a lot more resources in this matter. You have to consider the aspect that you are going to serve bigger portions which would then have you spend a number of your resources on a surmountable amount of dog foods in the first place.
Of course, there are other aspects that come into play. Large dogs are quite keen in having allergies develop to certain kinds of foods. In this case, you would be obliged to buy a hypoallergenic dog food, which could have you cost a lot more than what you have bargained for. When the large dog would get to a certain point in adulthood, then it would be best to use a raised dog bowl for them. By doing so, you would be decreasing the chances of having your dog be uncomfortable with their eating position. Once they are quite comfortable with their eating position, then you are potentially avoiding any further complications on their life.
Some much needed exercise
Having a large hound with you would require you to be keen on the exercise given to them. If you are the owner, then it is your full responsibility to have them play some outdoor games or even take them out on daily walks. It could get taxing on your part as having large dogs would usually require you to have more of a strength or force to control them with their actions in the outside world. So until you have them fully trained in having to go by themselves, you must have some reservations when it comes to the investment of some large dog harnesses out there.
Did you know that bigger dogs are easy to train in the process? This largely implies to their need to always have some physical activity attributed to them in the first place. Bigger dogs are also not that sensitive and much calmer than those smaller ones, which could be advantageous of you of not having to always go play with them anywhere they would like.
